MacGuffin 16: The Mirror
Taking inspiration from filmmaker Agnès Varda’s observation that turning a mirror outward reveals the surrounding world, the thirteenth issue of MacGuffin explores the complex nature of reflection. This edition navigates seasonal darkness, manipulated sunshine, facial recognition, mirror balls, and idealized selfies, balancing narcissistic echoes with deeply confessional design essays. Featuring contributions from Shahram Saadat, Peter Delpeut, Ghalia Elsrakbi, Aude Fellay, Fulvio Ferrari, Sam Jacob, Sabine Marcelis, Iriée Zamblé, Kandace Siobhan Walker, and more, Issue 13 offers a multifaceted examination of how we see ourselves and our environment.
